Mrs. Mervil Kaiser

Mrs. Mervil Kaiser, 80, nee Elizabeth (Betty) Day of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Knopp Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A memorial service was held at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 14, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Herold officiating.

Visitation was held before the service.

Graveside services and interment of the cremains was held at 9 a.m., today, Wednesday, July 15, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

Mrs. Kaiser was born July 5, 1935, in Glasgow, Scotland, the daughter of John Day and Rose Griffin Day. She married Mervil Kaiser on Dec. 18, 1959, in Glasgow, Scotland, and he survives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Kaiser is survived by two daughters, Christine Valentine of Kyle, and Kathryn Baggett and her husband, Clif, of Galveston, and four grandchildren.

She is also survived  by two brothers, one sister and spouses, including Jim and Jenny Day of Barnstaple, England; Michael Day of Glasgow, Scotland, and Anne and Al Gillingham of Sacramento, California.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Kaiser was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ross.

Memorials may be made to macular degeneration research, cancer research or to the charity of choice.
