Esther Estella Rusche

Esther Estella Rusche, 84, nee Schneider, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at Christ Lutheran Church, Cherry Spring, with the Rev. Mark A. Ward officiating.

Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Thursday evening, Dec. 3.

Mrs. Rusche was born Feb. 2, 1931, in Llano County, the daughter of Chester Edmund Schneider and Edna Louise Umfrid Schneider. She married Gustav Adolph Rusche on June 16, 1956, at Christ Lutheran Church at Cherry Spring. He preceded her in death Aug. 6, 2002.

The Rusches resided in the Cherry Mountain community where she was active in the Cherry Mountain Community Club. She also quilted with the Christ Lutheran Church WELCA quilting group.

Mrs. Rusche is survived by one daughter, one son and spouses, Marjorie and Kenneth Priess and Ray and Mary Lynn Rusche, all of Fredericksburg; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Rusche was preceded in death by a grandson, Keith Priess.

Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, Cherry Mountain Community Club, Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included Keith Schneider, Gerald Tuckness, Kerry Schneider, Grover Hawkins, Kenneth Schuessler and Ryan Schneider.

Honorary pallbearers were Patrick Rusche, Bill Tuckness, Pedro Vela and Denise Hawkins.
