Cora Augusta Deike

Cora Augusta Deike, 100, nee Hartmann, of Austin and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Monday, Dec. 7, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Rick Hartmann officiating.

Interment followed at Der Stadt Friedhof.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Friday evening, Dec. 11.

Mrs. Deike was born April 27, 1915, in Gillespie County, the daughter of Emil Hartmann and Alma Seipp Hartmann. She married Clarence Deike on Oct. 17, 1939, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Stonewall. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1998.

Mrs. Deike is survived by one daughter, two sons and spouses, including Dorothy (Dot) Johnson and Bob and Barb Deike, all of Austin, and Ron and Marcia Deike of Welfare; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by one brother and three sisters, including Hilmar Hartmann, Olivia Weirich, Margaret Deike and Alma Sobey and her husband, John, all of Fredericksburg.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Deike was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers, including Edna Deike, Lucille Chapman, Walter Hartmann, Chester Hartmann, Marvin Hartmann and Alex Hartmann.
