Mrs. Rubin H.E. Barsch

Mrs. Rubin H.E. Barsch, 80, nee Rachel Elizabeth Suzanna Thomas of Houston, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Houston.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. Grant Housewright officiating.

Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation was held Friday evening and Saturday morning at the funeral chapel.

Mrs. Barsch was born May 2, 1935, in Winters, the daughter of Lloyd Thomas and Cara Graham Thomas. She married Rubin Barsch on Dec. 31, 1954, in Shamrock. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by one daughter, two sons and spouses, including Susan and Michael Cook of Pasadena; Otto and Diane Barsch of Pearland, and David and Loretta Barsch of San Antonio.

Survivors also include six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, American Diabetes Association, Susan G. Komen For the Cure or to the charity of choice.

Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Jeanette Richardson, Rachel Gaynor, Brad Cook, Kyle Barsch, Kelcie Beal, Kayla Barsch, Brianna Gray, Katie Barber, Chloe Gaynor, Trevor Gaynor and Kennedy Gaynor.
