
MONROE CARL HEINEMANN
Monroe Carl Heinemann, 99, of Fredericksburg died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist, and Tim Cervantes, the vocalist.
Graveside services and entombment with military honors followed in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.
Schaetter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements were a vigil service was held on Sunday, Aug. 9, and visitation was held on Sunday and Monday.
Heinemann was born July 14, 1916, in Gillespie County, the son of Henry H. Heinemann and Lydia Klett Heinemann. He married Minnie Durst on Nov. 12, 1942, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church and she preceded him in death on Nov. 22, 2011.
He served in the United States Army from Nov. 25, 1940, to July 31, 1945, and was discharged as a sergeant. He received numerous medals for his service.
He is survived by two daughters, one son and their spouses, including Dolores and Jonathan Riba of Arlington, Daniel and Jacqueline Heinemann of Austin and Dorinda, Mrs. Gary Story, of Tow.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a sister-in-law, Pearl, Mrs. Roman Mosel, of Fredericksburg.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Heinemann was preceded in death by a son, Patrick John Heinemann; a son-in-law, Gary Story; one sister, Irene Hoffmann, and two brothers, Walter Heinemann and Robert Heinemann.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary’s School Endowment Fund or to the charity of choice.
Pallbearers included Rick Travis, David Hoffmann, Heiko Doerr, Roger Mousaw, Archie Crenwelge and Daniel Heinemann.
