Mrs. Douglas Behrends

Mrs. Douglas Behrends, 53, nee Beverly Ann Usener of Blanco and Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with Chaplain William Carlson officiating.

Visitation was held prior to the service.

Private family disposition of the cremains is planned at a later date.

Mrs. Behrends was born July 15, 1962, in Fort Lee, Virginia, the daughter of Clinton Harry Usener and Ann Louise Kaiser Usener. She married Douglas Behrends on June 8, 2001, in Fredericksburg and he survives.

She was a graduate of Andress High School in El Paso, and was employed by the Fredericksburg Independent School District.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Behrends is survived by two children, Sattler Sanchez of Blanco and Tanner Sanchez of San Marcos.

She is also survived by three brothers, three sisters and spouses, including Vernon and Karen Usener of Harper; Charlie and Emily Usener, Austin; David and Sandy Usener, Fredericksburg; Eva and Sergio Cantu, San Antonio; Anna and Christopher Kaus, Indiana, and Ava Usener, Harper.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.
