Thomas J. Brunet, 77, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013.
Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Beckmann Funeral Home.
Services will be held at a later date.
Brunet was born Oct. 17, 1935, in Fond du Lac, Wisc., the son of Lawrence G. Brunet and Virginia Sabel Brunet. He married Ann Marie Swantz on Jan. 17, 1959, in Fond du Lac, Wisc., and she survives.
An award-winning filmmaker, Brunet learned his craft in the U.S. Navy as a photographer’s mate.
Upon returning to Fond du Lac, Wisc., he began his career as a staff photographer for Kiekhaefer Mercury.
In 1967, he relocated to Dallas to head the motion picture unit of Braniff International Airways as a one-man production crew, filming and directing a number of films promoting the airline’s worldwide destinations.
He formed his own company in 1973 and continued to create film, television and multimedia productions for the next 20 years.
In 1994, he and his wife retired to Fredericksburg.
In addition to his wife, Brunet is survived by two sons, two daughters and spouses, including Pamela Brunet of Fredericksburg, Mark and Tina Brunet of Dallas, Christy and Bobby Davidson of Plano and Thomas Brunet of Denver, Colo.
He is also survived by two grandchildren; one brother, two sisters and spouses, including Lawrence and Kelly Brunet Jr. of Green Bay, Wisc.; Barbara and Bob King of Fond du Lac, Wisc., and Christine Bowditch of New London, N.H.
Brunet was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William Brunet.
