Mrs. Joseph Peter Kaiser, 99, nee Velma Edna Wahrmund of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at Windcrest Nursing and Rehab.

A funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with entombment following in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.

Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s Parish Capital Campaign, Hill Country Memorial Hospice, St. Joseph’s Halle Restoration or to the charity of choice.

MRS. B.P. HARTMANN

Mrs. B.P. Hartmann, 95, nee Ruby Norma Rusche of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Knopp Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

A funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday, Nov. 27, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating.

Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist, and Nancy Maenius, the vocalist.

Entombment followed in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and a vigil service were held Tuesday evening, Nov. 26.

Mrs. Hartmann was born Sept. 3, 1918, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Herman Wigand Rusche and Hedwig Laura Land Rusche. She married Balthasar Peter (B.P.) Hartmann on May 11, 1937, in Fredericksburg. He preceded her in death.

The Hartmanns raised turkeys and both worked at Market Produce for many years. After retirement, she worked at Stroeher and Son for another 17 years.

Mrs. Hartmann is survived by two daughters, Roberta, Mrs. Kermit Priess of Fredericksburg, and Lynnette Burck and her husband, Steve, of Fair Oaks Ranch; five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hartmann was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Kermit Priess, and a sister, Vera, Mrs. Egon Novian.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice, St. Mary’s Parish Capital Campaign or to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included Ricky Priess, Glenn Priess, Michael Burck, Brian Burck, Greg Mohr and Wilburn Eckhardt.

Honorary pallbearers were Luana Priess, Polly Priess, Julie Burck, Christie Mohr, Leanne Burck, Michaela Priess, Landon Priess, Charles Burck, Natasha Burck, Stran Mohr, Leila Burck, Kress Mohr, Philip Burck and Jessi Peese.

MRS. MELBA DURANT

Mrs. Melba Durant, 81, nee Debusk, of Harper, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, in Fredericksburg.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Private family services are planned.

Mrs. Durant was born Jan. 13, 1932, in Baltimore County, Md., the daughter of William Debusk and Elizabeth Martin Debusk.

She is survived by one son, one daughter and spouses, including Paul and Sandra Ridgell of Harper, and Roxann and Mike Kolbeck of Silver Lake, Kans.

Survivors also include six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Viola Cavendish of Ohio and Kathy Buie of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and three brothers.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the charity of choice.

Dwayne Justin Davis, 60, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013.

The family will receive visitors on Monday, Dec. 9, from 10-11 a.m., in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home where a memorial service will begin at 11 a.m.

Mrs. Henry William Keyser Jr., 88, nee Bernice Stehling of Mason, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at Fredericksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 8, from 4-7 p.m., and Monday, Dec. 9, from 7 a.m.-1:45 p.m.

A vigil service will be held Sunday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. at Schaetter Funeral Home.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with interment following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Brady Ann Tindall

Brady Ann Tindall, four-month-old daughter of Christopher and Gerianne Tindall, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013.

A funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 9:30 a.m., in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim Harnan officiating.

Interment followed at the Wilke Family Cemetery at Albert.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter’s Funeral Home.

The infant was born July 19, 2013, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Christopher Tindall and Gerianne Icke Tindall.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Aiden Grona, and a sister, Jo Lynn Smith.

Other survivors include her grandparents and great-grandparents: Patrick and Missy Cawley, Brady Tindall, Trisha Icke, Shirley Moehle and Violet Tindall.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Ricky Icke, and great-grandfather, Calvin Moehle.

Memorials may be to the Brady Ann Tindall Fund.

HAROLD PAHL

Harold Pahl, 88, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 5, at 10:30 a.m., in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bobby Vitek officiating.

Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter’s Funeral Home where visitation was held Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.

Pahl was born at Luckenbach on July 4, 1925, the son of Max H. Pahl and Anna Meier Pahl. He married Meta Schaeferkoeter on Sept. 28, 1946, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, and she survives.

He attended the Luckenbach School and over the years, was a farmer and rancher in the Luckenbach community.

In addition to his wife, Pahl is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, including Charlotte and Larry Taylor and Stephanie and Pat Stahl, all of Fredericksburg, and Joscelyn and Murray McDonald of Hutto.

Survivors also include six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a brother-in-law, Clemens Pehl of Fredericksburg.

Pahl was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Alice, Mrs. Albert Wilke.

Memorials may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church or to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included Michele and Patrick Vonderbrink, Harold Dean and Michelle Nall, Ursula and Nathan Kolenovsky, Deidra and Jon Stasny, Brandon and Lona Stahl, and Carlynn and Reagan King.

Honorary pallbearers were Natalie Nall, Austen Vonderbrink, Kaylie Kolenovsky, Kai Kolenovsky, Ella Stasny, Larry Pahl and Victor Meier.

STANLEY S. KOTHE

Stanley S. Kothe, 83, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at Knopp Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 10 a.m., in the chapel of Schaetter’s Funeral Home with the Rev. David Priem officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist and Jackie Kunz was the vocalist.

Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.

Kothe was born Dec. 20, 1929, in Fredericksburg, the son of Herman Kothe and Emma Schmidt Kothe. He married Olga Woerner on Feb. 20, 1951 and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Kothe is survived by two daughters, three sons and their spouses, including Darrel and Cindy Kothe, Stevie and Julie Kothe, Cindy and Dale Turkett and Stannett and Kenneth Raute, all of Fredericksburg, and Dennis and Jerri Kothe of Vernon.

He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and JoAnn Kothe of Fredericksburg.

Kothe was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson, Terry Parker.

Memorials may be made to the Fredericksburg Volunteer Fire Department or to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included Darin Kothe, Dustin Kothe, Shayne Turkett, Jonathan Turkett, Keagan Raute, Kye Raute, Kreger Raute and Kaleb Kothe.

Mrs. Joseph Peter Kaiser, 99, nee Velma Edna Wahrmund, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at Windcrest Nursing and Rehab Center.

Entombment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter’s Funeral Home where visitation and a vigil service were held Tuesday evening, Dec. 3.

Mrs. Kaiser was born Oct. 22, 1914, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Frank Peter Wahrmund Jr. and Ottilie A. Reinhard Wahrmund. She married Joseph Peter Kaiser on Aug. 21, 1934, in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Harper. He preceded her in death.

In earlier years, she was a nurse’s aide.

Mrs. Kaiser is survived by one son, two daughters and their spouses, including Joe D. and Dorothy Kaiser and Susan and Kermit Fritz, all of San Antonio, and Janet and Joe Solpietro of Point Venture.

She is also survived by six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Emma, Mrs. Rudy Franke of Fredericksburg, and Dornette, Mrs. Robert Kaiser of San Antonio.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Kaiser was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Natasha Nicole Enderlin Martin; a brother, Herbert Wahrmund, and a sister, Maurine, Mrs. Eugene Petsch.

Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s Parish Capital Campaign, Hill Country Memorial Hospice, St. Joseph’s Halle Restoration or to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included Todd Kaiser, Keith Kaiser, Darren Weirich, Gary Enderlin, Jerry Wahrmund and Olin Wahrmund.

MARGARET GEDRITES

Margaret Elizabeth Gedrites, 89, nee Bradshaw, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013.

No services are planned at this time.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gedrites was born Jan. 25, 1924, in Middleton, Ohio, the daughter of Albert Henry Bradshaw and Verna Haigh Bradshaw. She married Frank Albert Gedrites and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Duke Davis of Fredericksburg; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a sister, Alberta Beckett, of Middletown, Ohio.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Gedrites was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Memorials may be made to Make a Wish Foundation or the charity of choice.

Dwayne Justin Davis

Dwayne Justin Davis, 60, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013.

A memorial service was held Monday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Schaetter’s Funeral Home with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating.

Graveside services and interment of the cremains were held at the Davis Ranch.

Visitation was held Monday morning before the service.

Davis was born Dec. 4, 1952, in Fredericksburg, the son of Gould Davis Jr. and Kathleen Petsch Davis. He married Debra McHone on May 6, 1993, in Fredericksburg and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Davis is survived by two step-children and their spouses, Mark and Debbie Mund of Doss and Melody and Edward Krauskopf of Fredericksburg; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Davis is also survived by two brothers, four sisters and their spouses, including Bob and Connie Davis, Diane and Jim Brandenberger and J.O. and Jan Davis, all of Fredericksburg; Elizabeth and Kevin O’Hara of Blowout; Kathy Vaughn of Lubbock, and Joann and Tony Belke of Arkansas.

Along with his parents, Davis was preceded in death by a brother, Gould (Bubba) Davis III.

STEPHEN COMER

Stephen Comer, 68, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 10:30 a.m., at the Flower Mound Funeral Home in Lewisville.

Local arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Comer was born Nov. 5, 1945, in Washington, Mo., the son of Raymond Earl Comer and Mary Elizabeth Niehuss Comer. He and his wife, Margaret, were married 45 years ago, and she survives.

Prior to his retirement, Comer worked for Southwestern Bell and AT&T for 27 years in Fort Worth and Dallas.

He then went back to school to become a radiological technologist and embarked on his second career working as a radiology tech at the Dallas VA Medical Center for five years.

In addition to his wife, Comer is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tracey Lynn and Rob Killgore of Flower Mound, and a son and daughter-in-law, Jason Earl and Kristin Comer of Arlington.

Other survivors include his mother, Mary Elizabeth Comer; his brother, Michael Raymond Comer of Arlington, and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice, the American Cancer Society or to the charity of choice.

Jacquelyn Anne Burdett, 70, of Boerne, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, as the result of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident.

PEGGY WHITWORTH

Peggy Whitworth, 84, nee Leinweber, of Fredericksburg and formerly of Noxville, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013.

A memorial service is planned at a later date.

Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Mrs. Whitworth was born Dec. 25, 1928, in San Angelo, the daughter of Robert Leinweber and Lena Pearl Banta Leinweber. She married Worth Whitworth on March 25, 1955, in Junction and they worked as ranchers. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by five children and their spouses, including Worth and Judy Whitworth, of Tahoka; Zane and Waldo Henderson, of McQueeney; Zack Whitworth, of Buda; Whitney and Janna Whitworth, of Thrall, and Zsa and Garth Wainwright, of San Antonio.

Survivors also include 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two sisters, including Anna Davis of Pasadena and JoAnn Taylor of Fredericksburg.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Whitworth was preceded in death by five siblings, including: Robert Leinweber, Faye Dickey, Frances Wehmeyer, Fern Eckert and Gerdie Bluemmel.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the charity of choice.
